The Department of Sociology takes social group operation rules, social structure evolution and regional social phenomenon research as the core teaching and research direction. It has in-depth research achievements in immigrant group integration, urban social development and global social gap research, and is deeply favored by overseas students who are engaged in social phenomenon research and grassroots public policy formulation.

In the course teaching, the department systematically teaches social investigation methods, social data statistics and social phenomenon analysis theories. Students need to go deep into different social groups to carry out field research, sort out real social development problems and put forward targeted feasible improvement suggestions. The course content fully considers the social development characteristics of different countries and regions, and carries out comparative analysis of social phenomena in different regions.

The teachers of the department have rich experience in global social research, and have participated in many transnational social development research projects all year round. They can guide international students to combine the social reality of their own countries to carry out targeted research topics. Graduates of this major can be engaged in social research, community construction planning and grassroots public service policy research in various social scientific research institutions and public management departments around the world, with strong professional practicality.
