The Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies (NEJS) is Brandeis’s flagship department for Jewish and Near Eastern studies, covering history, religion, and modern politics.

Undergraduate students earn a Bachelor of Arts in NEJS, with coursework in Jewish history, religion, and modern Israel.
